iPiler – Increasing the lead of Junttan’s piling technology
Junttan iPiler is a completely new system for optimising pile driving processes and data management. iPiler system consists of a control device (PCD) to be attached to Junttan’s pile driving rig and a piling management software (PMO) operated via the internet. With the help of this system, the pile driving process becomes faster, safer and more efficient.
Thanks to the piling management software, some of the piling preparations can be done at the office. The pile driver receives clear instructions on the piling in the PCD measuring system. The PCD monitors the piling process closely, so that the driver is able to concentrate on his work. It is safer and faster to make the final blows, now that there is a control device to count the strokes and measure the penetration. The assistant can observe the ongoing stroke process from a safe distance.
The pile driving data can be uploaded from the PCD to the PMO, so that the contractor is able to analyse the work done at the piling site and optimise upcoming jobs. The contractor can also report to the customer that the job was performed according to the order.
There are various versions of the PCD measuring system for different applications:
| PCD-1 |
- Integrated measuring system installed at the factory for new JUNTTAN PM20 pile driving rigs. - The system plugs into the basic machine’s control system. - The device provides the pile driving rig’s fault diagnostics - Options: automatic measuring of pile depth and penetration and cameras |
| PCD-2 |
- Fixed mounted measuring device for Junttan pile driving rigs. - Can be mounted into many older Junttan pile driving rigs - Options: automatic measuring of pile depth and penetration, as well as cameras and keyboard
|
| PCD-3 |
- Measuring device to be attached to Junttan hammers and power packs - Device controls and measures hammer’s stroke - Includes manual measuring of depth

Strong arguments in high quality and functionality
Improved safety and working conditions
- No need for a banksman to stand next to the hammer during the final blows
- The driver has clear instructions on the piling process
Increased productivity
- Some of the piling preparations can be completed at the office
- Final blows are faster to do
Improved monitoring
- Piling process is monitored and the driver can concentrate on his work
Intelligent planning
- The contractor can analyse constructing sites and optimise upcoming jobs with the system
Increased quality in pile driving process
- PCD measuring system registers information on each pile, so that the data can be checked and analysed afterwards
- The contractor is able to verify the quality of the work and that the job was done according to the plan
Improved reporting and documentation
- The contractor can make different kinds of reports with the help of the system
- Piling information can be transferred to the Microsoft Excel spread sheet application
for more accurate calculations
